  2. use the coordinate plane sheet that we used with the little transparencies in class. draw the figure with the given coordinates. Dont draw the lines to connect the points. then do the same thing u did with questions 2-7 and 9 - 13. if that was confusing u even more say so, and i will try to simplify it.

  3. i do not get 25. the comment above helped a lot on 23. but 25 i still dont get, because the line of reflection is on the figure

  4. I don't get 25 either. How do we reflect over a line that is in the middle of the shape?!

  5. When you work on ANY transformation, one way to clear any distractions is to focus on individual points.

For example, when reflecting a polygon, you can focus on each vertex. So, in #27c, points E&F will reflect "south" of the line and points G&H will reflect "north" of the line. You can visualize the figure not only flipping, but essentially "spinning" around the line of reflection.

Let me know if this helped.

  7. No that did not help much, because what about the points above the line of reflection?

  8. I don't get 25 either. I got part of 12, but I didn't get the 270 rotation.

  9. For #25:

Points E&F are above the line of reflection... they will travel "south" and such that E' & F' are below the line of reflection.

Points G&H are below the line of reflection... they will travel "north" such that G' & H' are above the line of reflection.

  11. Hello (I'm assuming this is) Jessica,

Yup, middle school scheduling has gotten in our way. Tomorrow, you are in chorus all day, so I guess it will have to wait until we get back from break. I won't want to do it the first class we meet, since other teachers will be reluctant to give up their students on that day.

We'll just have to figure something out. Do all of you have gym during the same period? Maybe we can work something out with the gym teachers... after all, it is a physically demanding performance!

    Let me know your thoughts,
    Mr. C.
